December’s First Friday event was a jolly good time! (See proof here.) Raygun, located on Iowa City’s Ped Mall, is a witty Iowan’s merchandise mecca, and on December 2nd, it was buzzing with Museum supporters. Thanks to Brett DePue, store manager and member of the UIMA Bureau of Friendraising Affairs, specially designed t-shirts were screen printed on-site.

The UIMA hosted this free First Friday reception as a holiday gift to our supporters. So many guests showed up, that we made three separate pizza runs!

This month’s event featured photography by ten UI art students selected by Professor John Freyer. We would like to give a big thank you kiss (under the mistletoe, of course) to all of the students whose works were featured:

Erica Alexander - BFA candidate

Kate Allen - BFA candidate

Evelyn Ayala - BFA candidate

Kristina Craft - BFA candidate

Stephen Crompton - MFA candidate

Jean Finley - Advanced Photography

Caitlin Lombardo - BFA candidate

Aaron Lurth - MFA candidate

Sarah Smith - MFA candidate

Allison Welch - MFA candidate

The photographs looked so fantastic on the store’s walls, Raygun offered to display them through the month of December. If you didn’t get a chance last Friday, be sure to stop by Raygun to enjoy the exhibited works, and pick up a UIMA t-shirt—a perfect holiday gift.
