On Ad Reinhardt from a November 1977 diary:

“I met Ad in the elevator gong up to the Sidney Janis Gallery.”

(She then described his visit to her home/studio to look at her work) “Ad took a new mirror I had painted light grey with an abstract design on it…he said “That’s good” …I still have the mirror. It became a performance object and was repainted again and again…Ad and I had a short affair. I visited him in is studio. I wrote on him. His handwriting was especially personal and graphically perfect.” (She goes on to say that Reinhardt reminded her of the sophistication of Berlin).
