UIMA to showcase artist's videos from the UIMA collection at Studio Arts

Artist videos in the University of Iowa Museum of Art collection will be played on a continuing basis over the next four weeks in the Studio Arts Building, located in the former Menards building at 1375 Hwy. 1 West.

The presentations are part of a new effort to highlight video art from the UIMA at a variety of locations on the UI campus. The video presentations are free and open to the public. The Studio Arts building is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The video schedule is as follows:

- April 11-18, Man Ray's "Emak Bakia (Leave me alone)" and Maya Deren's "Meshes of the Afternoon," 32 minutes.

- April 18-24, Charles and Ray Eames: "Blacktop: A Story of the Washing of a School Play Yard," "Toccata for Toy Trains" and "Kaleidoscope Jazz Chairs," 31 minutes.

- April 25-May 1, William Wegman: "Selections from 1970-78," 19 minutes.

- May 2-8, Bill Viola: "Reflecting Pool," "Moonblood" and "Ancient of Days," 32 minutes.
