Over three 8-hour days, graffiti artist Lady Pink, UI assistant professor Deborah Whaley, UIMA Preparator Steve Erickson, and seven UI art students completed the 8-by-20-foot mural titled Consensus.

The footage for the video was shot on the second day of work, April 21, 2010. With music playing and spirits high, the team continued painting in the warm weather to create a one-of-a-kind frenzied scene of Iowa imagery in Lady Pink's signature graffiti style.

Consensus was installed in the Iowa Memorial Union's Black Box Theater as part of the UIMA's exhibition Two Turntables and a Microphone: Hip-Hop Contexts featuring Harry Allen's "Part of the Permanent Record: Photos from the Previous Century," on display through June 27.
